The 32nd IEEE International Conference on Computer Communications


April 14-19, 2013 - Turin, Italy

The IEEE Conference on Computer Communications addresses key topics and issues related to computer communications, with emphasis on traffic management and protocols for both wired and wireless networks. Material is presented in a program of technical sessions, panel discussions and workshops. The first INFOCOM conference took place in 1982 and has since taken place at many locations around the world - China, Japan, Israel, Italy, Spain, Brazil, as well as most regions of the US.


  • April 29, 2013: The slides of the TMA 2013 Workshop presentations are available for download
  • April 23, 2013: The winners of all the IEEE INFOCOM 2013 Awards have been published. Congratulations!
    • The Best Demo and Best Presentation awards have been assigned using votes that attendees gave during the conference. Many presentations received the maximum score of 5 stars, making it impossible to assign the Best Presentation award. At the same time, two Demos received the same number of votes. As such, the IEEE INFOCOM organisation committee have unanimously decided to assign two BEST DEMO awards.

The Keynote speaker is Prof. James Roberts. Title of the Keynote: "The Cloud is the future Internet: how can we engineer a cloud?"

The ALL CONFERENCE PANEL is about "Re-architecting the Internet: will insights from the past help shape the future?"
Moderator Prof. Mario Gerla. Panelists: Robert E. Kahn, Louis Pouzin, Pablo Rodriguez, Peter Steenkiste.

The PANEL 1 is about "Green Communications: Can We Achieve Load Proportional Energy Use?"
Moderator Prof. Daniel Kilper. Panelists: Antonio Capone, Flavio Cucchietti, Kerry Hinton, Louise Krug, Christoph Lange.

The PANEL 2 is about "Software Defined Networking: which way forward?"
Moderator Prof. Stefano Salsano. Panelists: Dante Malagrinò, Laurent Mathy, Zoltán Richárd Turányi, Cedric Westphal.

CCSES Workshop - The Program involves two keynotes, by William H. Sanders and by Anna Scaglione respectively, and a Panel Discussion about "Smart Grid Communications: From Theoretical Foundations to Practical Implementations"

NetSciCom Workshop - The Keynote -- given by Prof. Marián Boguñá -- is about "Networks meet Geometry: A hyperbolic journey from the Internet to the Universe".

The Panel Discussion is on "Is Network Science really a science or just a buzzword?".
Moderator: Dr. Ram Ramanathan. Panelists: Dr. Sergey Gorinsky, Dr. Nishanth Sastry, Dr. Thrasyvoulos Spyropoulos.

SDP Workshop - The Keynote -- given by Dr. Henning Schulzrinne -- is about "Applied Economics of Networks". The Program also includes an Industry Panel.
